In a news release, Canadian gold exploration company Kalo Gold Holdings Corp. (KALO:TSX.V; KLGDF:OTCQB) announced that Mr. Paul Harbidge will be joining the firm as technical advisor. In addition, the company advised that Harbidge will be joining Kalo Gold's Special Advisory Committee.
The company noted that Paul Harbidge is a geologist with a long track record in the discovery of world-class gold deposits. The firm listed that Harbidge earned a First Class Honors Degree in Geology from London's Kingston University and an MSc in Mineral Exploration and Mining Geology from Leicester University.
Kalo Gold explained that Harbidge previously served as president and CEO of GT Gold where he was instrumental in advancing a gold rich copper porphyry project in northern British Columbia until the company was sold to Newmont Corp. in May 2021 for CA$456 million.
Prior to working at GT Gold, Harbidge was SVP of Exploration at Goldcorp Inc. starting in 2016 until April 2019 when Newmont acquired that firm. He also previously led Randgold Resources' exploration team, which led to numerous gold discoveries totaling 19.5 million ounces (Moz) in Mali and a 4 Moz gold discovery in Senegal. Harbidge's earlier work included stints with Rio Tinto, Anglo American and Goldfields.

Kalo Gold is a mineral explorer headquartered in Vancouver, B.C., that is focused primarily on exploring and developing the Vatu Aurum gold project located on Fiji's north island of Vanua Levu. The company holds two separate mineral exploration licenses in the island nation that together encompasses a land package of 36,700 hectares on trend with the Southwest Pacific's Ring of Fire, home to many of the world's largest gold deposits.
