Silver Viper Minerals Corp. (VIPR:TSX.V; VIPRF:OTCQB) announced in a news release results of the latest six holes drilled in the El Rubi prospect of the La Virginia project in Mexico, highlighting the significance of hole LV21-289.
The hole, intersecting three main zones of silver-gold mineralization, was noteworthy for three reasons. One, it encountered the highest grade to date at El Rubi, averaging 363 grams per tonne (363 g/t) silver and 21.2 g/t gold over 19.3 meters (19.3m). Within it was the best single sample, at 10,681 g/t silver and 738 g/t gold over 0.5m, starting at 429.2m downhole.
Two, LV21-289 returned the deepest high-grade mineralization to date at El Rubi.
Three, the hole was the first to return high-grade base metals at El Rubi, 6.74% lead and 7.11% zinc specifically.
"Hole LV21-289 really is an eye opener as to the ultimate potential of this project," President and CEO Steve Cope said in the release. "Obviously, the presence of spectacular grades deep in the hole will grab the markets' attention, but beyond that, it is the deepest and widest high-grade intercept to date on the El Rubi structure which is very encouraging. The zone in itself is cause for us to be thrilled, but equally as important is the well mineralized 130m long zone higher in the hole which continues to show the open-pit potential of the El Rubi area."
Hole LV20-284 also intercepted multiple broad zones of mineralization in El Rubi's Western zone.
The company continues its 2021 exploration program at El Rubi in support of an upcoming maiden estimate of the resource there.
