In a news release, Dolly Varden Silver Corp. (DV:TSX.V; DOLLF:OTCMKTS) announced that high-grade silver intercepts highlighted the final results of its 2020 drill program at the Torbrit deposit at its Dolly Varden project in British Columbia.
Those assays included 310 grams per ton (310 g/t) silver over 6 meters (6m), including 1,083 g/t silver over 2.7m in hole DV20-222. Hole DV20-244 showed 304 g/t silver over 45.82m, including 642 g/t silver over 4m. Hole DV20-246 returned 306 g/t silver over 5.1m, including 1,290 g/t silver over 0.6m.
"We are seeing consistent intervals of high-grade silver mineralization at the Torbrit silver deposit that has the potential to support economically attractive underground bulk mining techniques while, at the same time, each successive drill program continues to demonstrate that the deposit is open for expansion," President and CEO Shawn Khunkhun said in the release.
The campaign comprised regional mapping, surface sampling and drilling 40 holes over 11,397m. Dolly Varden drilled 19 of the holes in Torbrit and 21 in multiple areas on the property, the latter for reconnaissance and exploration.
For this year, the company is considering additional underground work at Torbrit to develop better access for test mining and bulk sampling. It also wants to conduct resource expansion and exploration drilling at depth and along strike to the east of Torbrit.
Khunkhun also noted that whereas Dolly Varden is currently focused on silver, a gold discovery is possible, too, given the indications of potential gold and copper mineralization at the property, to the northwest of the company's silver deposits.
