In a news release, Generation Mining Ltd. (GENM:TSX; GENMF:OTCQB; 9GN:FSE) reported on the"continued progress of the Feasibility Study currently underway for the Marathon Palladium project in northwestern Ontario."
With the metallurgical work completed thus far, the company optimized the processing plant flowsheet design and improved metal recoveries, advancements that it will incorporate into the feasibility study and engineering phase.
"We see the achieved recoveries and overall design to be very positive for the overall project," Chief Operating Officer Drew Anwyll said in the release.
Regarding the second phase of metallurgical testing, which got underway in September, the company achieved honed performance of the scavenger and cleaning flotation circuits and determined the best grind size for the regrind circuit.
Generation Mining began initial locked cycle and pilot plant testing in mid-October, which it should finish in November. For this, it is using three bulk samples containing varied palladium and copper. Two samples are of newly obtained material from the Main zone and W-Horizon, and the third is a composite obtained in 2012.
These final steps should "fully validate the flowsheet, process design criteria and confirm expectations for final concentrate grade and quality," the release explained.
