UrbanGold Minerals Inc. (UGM:TSX.V) completed the phase 1 drill program at its Pallador gold project in Quebec's Troilus-Frotet region, it announced in a news release.
The campaign consisted of six holes drilled over 1,620 meters in the Golden Road block of Pallador, which is about 16 kilometers to the north of the Main block. The purpose was to test "geophysical targets located up ice from anomalous gold bearing boulders and tills within a favorable geological context and where a major fault has been interpreted," the release noted.
With the drill bit, the Canadian exploration firm encountered gold mineralization nearby, in the western portion of Troilus-Frotet and about 25 km to the southwest of the historical Troilus mine.
While awaiting assays from phase 1, which it expects sometimes this fall, UrbanGold stated it will continue to explore various parts of its Pallador property. For instance, it plans to soon resume surface exploration in the Diléo-Nord block. There, in preparation for possible future drilling, the company will target historical occurrences of gold mineralization and anomalies identified via induced polarization.
