In a news release, FansUnite Entertainment Inc. (FANS:CSE; FUNFF:OTC) announced that Askott Entertainment Inc., which FansUnite is in the progress of acquiring, finished development of its second casino video game, "Crash Heist," part of a planned series.
Askott is a Vancouver-based technology firm that develops online gaming software. "Crash Heist" follows its first random number generator (RNG), or casino, game, "Loothunter."
In "Crash Heist," players break into a bank vault for a fee of their choice. Once inside, they get money, and it increases until they leave the vault. If they exit the vault before the police arrive, the money is theirs. If they don't, they crash out.
"Many sportsbooks offer casino games, and with the recent COVID-19 pandemic, the importance of having such games has been magnified," the release explained. "Askott is developing games that will appeal to a broader target market that includes a growing younger demographic along with traditional gamers."
"Crash Heist" and "Loothunter" can be played on various platforms. Askott's partners will have access to all of its games, and other operators may license them as standalone products.
"These additional offerings will result in more engagement from bettors and higher retention on our platforms. Without the need for live e-sports events, these games can be played 24/7 by our players, allowing for more consistent betting and predictable revenue," Askott CEO Scott Burton said in the release.
