In a news release, Nexus Gold Corp. (NXS:TSX.V; NXXGF:OTCQB) provided an update on many of its Canadian and West African projects.
In Canada, at McKenzie East in Ontario's Red Lake, the company recently finished 2,000 meters of diamond drilling, assays from which are expected to be available mid-August. The company noted that "the 100%-owned McKenzie Gold Project is a 1,400-hectare high-grade gold prospect located in the heart of the historic Red Lake gold camp, in western Ontario, Canada."
In Newfoundland, "the Company controls a total of four 100% owned projects comprising over 3,000 hectares proximal to established deposits and producing mines." At its Black Ridge, Bauline and GB gold-copper projects, Nexus Gold stated that it plans to start groundwork and reconnaissance programs, to include sampling and historical data mapping, in late summer/early fall.
At the Vancouvera-based company's other Newfoundland project, Dorset, Leocor Ventures, which holds an option on it, started sampling and trenching.
With respect to Nexus Gold's West African assets, it is now planning a fall/winter maiden drill program for its Dakouli 2 gold project in Burkina Faso.
At Rakounga, another gold project in Burkina Faso, option partner Kruger Gold is planning a late summer work program.
