In a news release, Black Tusk Resources Inc. (TUSK:CSE; BTKRF:OTCMKTS; 0NB:FSE) announced that it has begun work on the McKenzie East Gold project located 30 km north of Val d'Or, Quebec.
The company stated that it has enlisted VD Geo Service of Val d'Or to conduct geological and geochemical surveying over the property and that Black Tusk's director and geologist, Dr. Mathieu Piché, will be heading up the exploration team. The firm indicated that the scope of the work performed will include mapping and sampling of outcrops and reconnaissance soil and rock sampling.
Black Tusk Resources noted that the results from the surveys will provide an initial overview of the property that can be utilized during its upcoming McKenzie East diamond drill program. The company mentioned that earlier this year it used aerial drones to complete magnetic surveys in order to locate targets for the project.
The firm reported that it recently obtained a permit allowing it to construct 18 drill pads along with access trails and supporting water supply stations and advised that it plans to carry out the McKenzie East drill program during this summer's exploration season.
The company's CEO Richard Penn commented, "We look forward to obtaining the results from this exploration program to assist in defining potential high-priority drill targets at the McKenzie East Gold project."
The McKenzie East Gold project is located approximately two kilometers east of Monarch Gold's McKenzie Break project.
