Nexus Gold Corp. (NXS:TSX.V; NXXGF:OTCQB) announced in a news release it defined the targets for its impending diamond drill program at its McKenzie gold project in Ontario's Red Lake District.
"We're eager to test and expand areas that have already shown high-grade mineralization in the past," President and CEO Alex Klenman said in the release. "There have been some narrow high-grade intercepts in this particular target zone, so we're hoping to build on that. We are also reviewing additional targets in the immediate area and could expand the scope of this initial campaign."
With this campaign, which is to commence later this month, the Vancouver-headquartered mining company will drill at least 1,000 meters and up to 10 holes to 100–200m vertical depths at 45–60 degree angles. The area of interest is the southernmost section of the 1,348-hectare claim block.
With this first phase, Nexus will test the strike and/or depth extensions of intersections encountered on previous drilling as well as the depth and lateral extent of the east to west trending shears along the geological contact of the Dome stock.
The company is evaluating further targets and may expand the drill program if it sees fit, it noted.
