In a news release, Gold Terra Resource Corp. (YGT:TSX.V; TRXXF:OTC; TXO:FSE) announced drill results from 10 holes from Sam Otto South at its wholly owned Northwest Territories' Yellowknife City Gold project. The company advised that it has now released assay results for 28 holes from its 36-hole winter drilling program totaling 10,989 meters.
The company stated that this phase of drilling targeted the northern part of Sam Otto South and that all 10 holes intersected gold mineralization, indicating the potential to add to the existing inferred mineral resource estimate dated November 4, 2019. The company highlighted some drill samples so far which include 1.03 g/t gold over 23 meters, including 1.30 g/t gold over 12 meters at hole TSO20-077 and 1.60 g/t gold over 11.75 meters at hole TSO20-078.
Gold Terra's President and CEO David Suda commented, "Our stated goal prior to this drilling campaign was to establish continuity and potentially increase the current mineral resource. Results to date have demonstrated continued success in expanding the footprint of the Sam Otto South gold mineralized system. For example, very good continuity is shown on Section 3400N with holes TSO20-074 and 077 announced today. We look forward to receiving the assay results from the remaining holes in the untested central zone and Main Zone of Sam Otto."
The firm noted that the results reported today were follow up data on holes TSO18-037 (1.92 g/t gold over 11.82 meters) and TSO19-046 (1.36 g/t gold over 14.00 meters) at the northern end of Sam Otto South. The company reported that the complete assay results from all 10 drill holes totaled 2,754 meters from which 1,410 core samples were assayed with results ranging from zero to as high as 4.17 g/t gold.
The company explained that the Yellowknife City Gold (YCG) project covers 783 sq. km of contiguous land located near the city of Yellowknife in the Northwest Territories. The firm stated that following several acquisitions it now controls one of the six major high-grade gold camps in Canada. The company pointed out that "the YCG lies on the prolific Yellowknife greenstone belt, covering 70 km of strike length along the main mineralized shear system that host the former-producing high-grade Con and Giant gold mines." The firm said it has identified significant zones of gold mineralization and multiple untested targets which reinforces its aim of re-establishing Yellowknife as one of the premier gold mining districts in Canada.
