Argonaut Gold Inc. (AR:TSX) announced in a news release that new drill results from its past-producing Magino property in Ontario, Canada, included the best intercepts encountered there thus far.
"We continue to intersect higher grade gold mineralization in structures at depth and as we step out to the west of Magino," President and CEO Pete Dougherty said in the release. The mineralization is situated below and next to the current open-pit mineral reserve.
High grade results were found at hole MA19-020. At more than 700 meters (700m) below surface, drilling in that hole hit 6m of 10.79 grams per ton (10.79 g/t) gold, including a 2.95m interval of 21.07 g/t gold.
Other recent highlight intercepts were 11m of 11.67 g/t gold with 11m of 11.68 g/t gold in MA19-016. MA19-018 showed 2m of 17.26 g/t gold.
Of the planned 20,000m drill campaign for Magino, Argonaut completed 22 holes covering 17,799m, according to the release.
