Nexus Gold Corp. (NXS:TSX.V; NXXGF:OTCQB) reported in a news release early results of samples taken from its recently acquired Manzour-Dayere gold exploration consession in Burkina Faso.
Available results are for 12 samples taken from an active artisanal zone in the 19,053-hectare concession's northeast corner. The purpose of Nexus' sampling is to identify potential mineralized areas and map the artisanally mined areas.
Highlight gold grades include 9.6 grams per ton (9.6 g/t), 7.07 g/t, 5.73 g/t, 3.84 g/t and 2.84 g/t.
Nexus Gold's geologists will add these results to the historical data they have amassed and use them to delineate future drill targets.
The company noted that "situated in southwestern Burkina Faso, near the border with Ghana, the area is home to several producing mines, including Yaramoko (Roxgold), Hounde (Endeavour), Poura (Newmont), Bondi (Sarama) and Gaoua (B2Gold)."
