BTU Metals Corp. (BTU:TSX.V) provided in a news release an exploration update on its Dixie Halo property in Ontario's Red Lake District.
"The past couple of months have been very exciting with our team uncovering compelling evidence of a significant copper, silver and gold system," CEO Paul Wood said in the release.
Regarding the TNT polymetallic target at Dixie Halo, drilling there to date spanned 500 meters, from east to west. Every hole intersected copper mineralization.
Additionally, "visual evaluation of the geological units intersected in the recent drilling points to the TNT target being a broad extensive zone of pyritic and sericitic alteration with intervals that contain intermittent chalcopyrite (copper) mineralization as well as minor, sphalerite (zinc), galena (lead), and molybdenite (molybdenum)," the release noted.
BTU Metals is awaiting work permits for TNT and anticipates drill testing specific areas of the target in Q1/20 starting on Jan. 6.
As for the Dixie Creek gold target, a spatiotemporal geochemical hydrocarbons (SGH) survey was done there and results are expected in early January. Similar testing by Great Bear Resources identified known areas of gold mineralization on the Dixie property to the north of the north boundary of the Dixie Halo main property. Results of the SGH sampling program will help delineate future drill targets there, the company stated.
BTU Metals will continue to drill test TNT and Dixie Creek in 2020. The exploration company stated it is fully funded for that and for general and administrative expenses.
"We are looking forward to continuing to grow our story with your support in the year ahead," Wood added.
