Marathon Gold Corp. (MOZ:TSX; MGDPF:OTCMKTS) announced in a news release that additional drill results from the Marathon deposit at the Valentine gold project in Newfoundland are positive.
"The new drilling continues to delineate significant new zones of quartz-tourmaline-pyrite-gold veining in areas of limited previous drilling within the southwestern area of the planned Marathon open pit," the release noted.
Numerous highlight assays include the ones from hole MA-19-450 in the Main zone which are 3.99 grams per ton (3.99 g/t) gold over 29 meters (29m), including 20.76 g/t gold over 1m and 65.15 g/t gold over 1m as well as 7.52 g/t gold over 3m.
Others, from the MA-19-447 in the Main and Footwall zones, were 4.85 g/t gold over 9m, including 13.5 g/t gold over 2m, along with 19.23 g/t gold over 3m.
Marathon expected to finish drilling at Marathon this past week. After, it will mobilize the three rigs to the Sprite zone to complete the 7,000m program there.
The company will use the data from this year's 60,000m of Marathon and Leprechaun infill drilling to update the mineral resource of Valentine. That is expected to be completed in Q4/19.
