Granite Creek Copper Ltd. (GCX:TSX.V) announced in a news release it identified a quartet of exploration target areas at its Stu copper-gold project in the Yukon.
The targets, each of which is multiple kilometers long, include East, include a 2-by-4 kilometer copper-in-soil anomaly along Stu's northeast side.
"These results are a testament to the underexplored potential of this part of the high-grade Minto Copper District," President and CEO Tim Johnson said in the release. Moving to drill testing could potentially be done quickly.
The fieldwork undertaken in June included initial rock and soil sampling, for which assays and results are pending and expected in mid-summer 2019. Granite Creek also staked claims, an additional 21 this year, increasing the size of its land package to 115 square kilometers.
Next for the company is the second phase of its 2019 field season, which will encompass geological mapping, multielement soil and rock sampling, and potentially, further geophysical surveys.
