Aurion Resources Ltd. (AU:TSX.V) announced in a news release it intersected a wide zone of gold mineralization in the first two of 10 planned drill holes targeting Aamurusko Northwest at its Risti project in northern Finland.
"The estimated true thickness of the zone is 70% of core length and appears to be near vertical, trends northeast to southwest and may have a plunge," the release described. "The zone continues to a depth of at least 150 meters (150m) vertically and is open."
As for assays, hole AM19095 returned 13.31 grams per ton gold (13.31 g/t Au) over 19.54m, including 22.58 g/t Au over 8.18m. Hole AM19094 demonstrated 1.84 g/t Au over 31.12m, including greater than 100 g/t Au over 0.33m and 12.25 g/t Au over 0.65m. Aurion will deepen both of these holes.
