Cypress Development Corp. (CYP:TSX.V; CYDVF:OTCQB; C1Z1:FSE) provided in a news release a prefeasibility study update on its Clayton Valley lithium project, noting the results should be out this summer.
The timing of the study's completion date has been extended, in part because of drilling delays due to weather and footage added the program.
Also, Ausenco Engineering Canada Inc., which is preparing the study, needed more time to finalize the flow sheet and apply it with respect to plant design and cost estimates. Ausenco had to conduct studies, now finished, to determine the ideal quantity of leach stages to use and the equipment needed to separate solids from liquids.
Currently, Ausenco is conducting further tests to determine the optimal method of handling clay slurries during leaching, washing and purification.
Also underway and nearly finished is work on the prefeasibility study's phase 2 metallurgical program, specifically on the purification and concentration of lithium in the final leach solutions. This is almost done. During the phase 2, results of single-stage leach testing of a bulk sample yielded results similar to those gotten previously.
Global Resource Engineers (GRE) is in the final stages of completing a mine plan and production schedule. Results of geotechnical testing on drill core were in line with GRE's assumptions in the preliminary economic assessment.
Finally, a phase 1 environmental assessment is in progress.
In other Cypress news, the next hearing is scheduled for July 2, 2019, in the legal dispute over ownership of claims in two southern sections of the Cypress project.
