NexTech AR Solutions Corp. (NTAR:CSE; NEXCF:OTCQB) announced in a news release it debuted its ARitize app featuring a Budweiser augmented reality (AR) activation to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Toronto's Budweiser Stage concert venue.
NexTech's ARitize app is available for both Apple and Android platforms. It uses advanced three-dimensional imaging technology to create engaging AR experiences. "Available to both brands and individuals, the app allows users to tell their stories through curating a branded channel of interactive activations that enhance existing content, materials and goods," the release noted.
In conjunction with the Budweiser celebration, NexTech will hold a social media-driven contest for tickets to the Budweiser Stage for the season, during which about 60 acts will perform, including Lenny Kravitz, Mary J. Blige and Iron Maiden.
To enter, fans will purchase a limited edition can of Budweiser and download the ARitize app. When they point their cellphone at the can, different visuals as part of an AR experience will appear. Capturing and sharing those on social media will serve as their contest entry.
"We're excited to be launching our ARitizeTM App with an activation for a well-respected brand like Budweiser and showcasing how augmented reality can enhance customer engagement," said Evan Gappelberg, CEO of NexTech. "Our app allows brands to curate an immersive, branded experience where they can sell, teach, communicate and share their product, service or experience through Augmented Reality (AR) that is accessible on a device all consumers use regularly – their mobile phone."
