ParcelPal Technology Inc. (PKG:CSE; PTNYF:OTC.MKTS; PT0:FSE) announced in a press release that Canadian politician Parm Gill joined its advisory board of directors.
"Mr. Gill's knowledge on economic issues and private sector experience will be an asset for ParcelPal moving forward. Mr. Gill has changed criminal law for the better and is always looking for the betterment of safety for all Canadians," ParcelPal's President and CEO Kelly Abbott said in the release.
Gill is a current member of Ontario's Provincial Parliament for Milton, having been elected in 2018. Previously, from 2011 to 2015, he served as a federal member of parliament for Brampton-Springdale.
During his tenure in the Canadian House of Commons, Gill was appointed as the parliamentary secretary to the minister of veteran affairs, and later, the minister of international trade. He also was a member of numerous committees including International Trade, Public Safety and National Security, Health, Veterans and Canadian Heritage.
A major focus of Gill is public safety. He piloted bill C-394, now a law, which bans recruiting or encouraging anyone to join a criminal organization. He is currently the chair of the standing committee on justice policy, whose work focuses on policy regarding policing and the courts.
"As ParcelPal moves further into cannabis and alcohol delivery, I am happy to advise on how they can continue the fight against intoxicated people on the roads and getting their products [delivered] safely," Gill said in the release.
