NexTech AR Solutions Corp. (NTAR:CSE;NEXCF:OTC) just made available an upgraded user experience for its Web-enabled augmented reality (AR) platform, it announced in a news release.
This function, web-based UX, allows users to preview a three-dimensional (3D) AR object in a location and then "place" it in another. After "placing" it, they can use their mobile camera to pan, to the left and right, over the object that remains still. Users feel as though they're "inside an app" and experience simultaneous localization and mapping, or SLAM, according to the release.
"Previously, users were unable to place a 3D object inside a room without using Apple's ARKit, Google's ARCore or WebXR which is very limited and only works on iOS for browsers," CEO Evan Gappelberg said in the release. "Our new user experience is a technological advancement that leapfrogs everything on the market today and offers a truly cross-browser, cross-platform, stable and reliable 3D AR experience inside the Web."
