Sparc AI Inc. (SPAI:CSE; SPAIF:OTCQB; 5OVO:Frankfurt) announced it has again expanded its presence in Ukraine. Find out why the country has become a pivotal center for small drone warfare.

Sparc AI Inc. (SPAI:CSE; SPAIF:OTCQB; 5OVO:Frankfurt) announced a partnership with a member of the Ukrainian National Guard who is involved in drone pilot training across various platforms, according to an April 23 release.

This collaboration marks a significant expansion of Sparc AI's distribution network in Ukraine and enhances the company's direct engagement with frontline operators, the release noted. This agreement serves as an additional channel for distributing Sparc AI's Overwatch platform in Ukraine, supplementing existing partnerships with drone manufacturers.

"Sparc AI's strategy in Ukraine is to build a broad, resilient distribution network by partnering with both drone manufacturers and groups holding direct relationships with defense end-users," the company said in the release. "The objective is to deploy Overwatch across as many drone platforms and geographic operating areas as possible, positioning the software as standard infrastructure across the entire drone ecosystem rather than being tied to any single airframe or region."

To facilitate this expansion, Sparc AI said it has upgraded its previously appointed local agent to a full-time position. This agent possesses direct and established relationships within the Ukrainian defense community and the drone manufacturing sector, providing SPARC AI with immediate access to key decision-makers involved in both manufacturing and operational aspects. This strategy effectively combines the scale of an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) distribution model with the immediacy of a direct market presence, creating multiple reinforcing channels for the adoption of Overwatch in one of the world's most operationally critical electronic warfare environments.

It is important to note that all Overwatch deployments are subject to applicable export control and defense trade compliance requirements, the company said. SPARC AI has retained qualified legal counsel to ensure that all engagement activities, integration efforts, and technology transfers comply with relevant laws.

In a separate development, Sparc AI has granted options to two consultants who are assisting with business development initiatives and making strategic introductions, the release continued. Specifically, Ron Shenton received 125,000 options with an exercise price of CA$6.65, expiring on April 23, and Bond Consulting Services Inc. was granted the same number of options under identical terms. These options are issued independently of the recent partnership announcement.

Co. Collaborating With Ukrainian Drone Maker

Also this month, Sparc AI also formed a new partnership with a Ukrainian drone manufacturer for its Overwatch platform. The collaboration marks a significant step in the commercial adoption of Sparc AI's technology, which specializes in GPS-denied navigation and precision targeting. This partnership is separate from a previous alliance in Ukraine and opens up an additional distribution channel in a region known for its complex electronic warfare environment.

The addition of this new manufacturer not only broadens Sparc AI's installed base but also enriches the operational data collected, which is crucial for enhancing the company's proprietary machine learning models. The strategic goal of Sparc AI is to integrate the Overwatch platform into drone and robotic systems globally, aiming to standardize its use across various platforms. The company emphasized that securing a second independent manufacturer in Ukraine underscores the market demand for its software-centric approach and demonstrates the effectiveness of its distribution model.

The operations in Ukraine are particularly beneficial for Sparc AI as they provide valuable flight data across diverse terrain and electromagnetic conditions, thereby strengthening the capabilities of the Overwatch platform for international clients. The company also highlighted its commitment to compliance with international export control and defense trade regulations. To this end, Sparc AI has engaged experienced legal advisors to ensure that all aspects of the platform's integration, field trials, and technology transfers meet all relevant legal standards.

Analyst: Replacing GPS Dependency

1On February 12, Analyst Stewart Thomson conducted a detailed technical evaluation of Sparc AI's Overwatch system, a sophisticated platform engineered for scenarios where GPS functionality is compromised. This system is specifically designed for integration into drones and robotic systems utilized within defense, emergency response, and security sectors. It offers precise geolocation capabilities that are crucial for tasks such as targeting, surveillance, tracking, and autonomous navigation.

Thomson addressed the vulnerabilities of current navigation and targeting technologies, including jamming, spoofing, and signal disruptions, which can significantly impact missions that depend on GPS accuracy. He commended Sparc AI for its innovative approach to overcoming these challenges, stating, "SPARC AI Inc. replaces GPS dependency." He praised the company for its proprietary algorithms that determine precise locations using sophisticated mathematical models and telemetry data.

A key feature of the Overwatch system, as highlighted by Thomson, is its operation entirely on software, which eliminates the need for additional hardware components like sensors or radar. This attribute renders it a "true zero-signature solution," making it highly suitable for stealth operations across various sectors including defense, search and rescue, and law enforcement.

Thomson further described the Overwatch system as "covert, resilient, and drone-agnostic," noting that it equips defense, rescue, and commercial operators with real-time situational awareness and a decisive operational advantage.

At the time of Thomson's evaluation, the stock was priced at CA$1.18, and he set a target price of CA$1.60, suggesting that it could potentially rise to CA$2.00, with a "Speculative Buy" rating. The stock has since appreciated to CA$5.75, indicating a significant increase in value following the positive assessment.

US Symbol Trading Well

On April 23, 2026, Chen Lin of What is Chen Buying? What is Chen Selling? wrote in his newsletter that the company "traded well in the US SPAIF, tripled in the past week! I put in an alert last Thursday, telling everyone to buy as the free share started trading. It was trading at 2+ CAD. Today it hit 7.5! There is some profit taking here now back to the 5+ range, and I will be meeting with the management in NY tomorrow."

The Catalyst: A Pivotal Center for Small Drone Warfare

Since Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Ukraine has emerged as a pivotal center for small drone warfare, Miriam McNabb report for DroneLife on March 18. The country has been actively utilizing small unmanned aircraft for a variety of military purposes, including FPV strike drones, reconnaissance, and electronic warfare. Ukrainian expertise in drone operations is now being shared globally, with over 200 military specialists dispatched to the Middle East to assist in countering Iranian-designed attack drones. These specialists are significantly enhancing local capabilities in drone detection, response, and countermeasures.

The international demand for drone warfare knowledge and counter-UAS technology is on the rise, transforming it into a significant export industry. Countries with firsthand combat experience are exporting this knowledge through training, advisory services, and innovative technologies to international partners. This trend is evident in recent activities in Ukraine, Estonia, and the U.S., highlighting the rapid growth of this market. Ukraine is not only aiding other nations but is also actively seeking technological partnerships and financial support to bolster its own drone manufacturing capabilities. This strategy represents a shift in defense cooperation, where operational knowledge is as critical as the hardware itself.
