AISIX Solutions Inc. (AISX:TSX.V; QT7: FSE) reported industry engagement following its wildfire modeling presentation at CatIQ Connect 2026. The company said discussions with insurers and risk leaders are continuing as adoption efforts expand for its analytics platforms.

AISIX Solutions Inc. (AISX:TSX.V; QT7: FSE) reported industry engagement following its participation in the panel "Sharper Models for Sharper Risks" at CatIQ Connect 2026, a Canadian catastrophe risk management conference held February 3 to 4, 2026, at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. The event brings together experts from insurance, government, and academia to address disaster management in Canada.

According to the company, AISIX experienced interest from industry stakeholders during and after the conference. Engagement included discussions with senior leaders and decision makers from several of Canada's largest insurance companies, along with representatives from government and the broader catastrophe risk ecosystem.

Dr. Gio Roberti, Chief Executive Officer of AISIX, delivered the only presentation at the conference focused entirely on wildfire modeling. He said, "Being selected to present our latest wildfire model updates at CatIQ Connect 2026 showed that the industry needs more robust and scenario-based wildfire modeling products to model spatially correlated losses and individual fires, together with forward-looking insights, in order to properly price risks."

Roberti also said, "The level of engagement and quality of conversations we had at CatIQ Connect reinforces the urgent need for forward-looking wildfire intelligence able to highlight locations that don't have prior fire losses. We connected with leaders from Canada's major insurance organizations who are actively seeking better tools to understand emerging wildfire risk, particularly in regions without historical loss experience."

CatIQ's 2025 catastrophe loss data highlighted a record number of fire-related catastrophe declarations, including events in provinces with no prior industry fire catastrophes. The company stated this underscores the need for forward-looking, scenario-based, and climate change-adjusted wildfire modeling solutions.

AISIX said it continues to advance commercial discussions initiated at CatIQ Connect and remains focused on expanding adoption of its Wildfire 3.0 and Climate Genius dashboard. The company stated that momentum from the conference represents an important step in strengthening market awareness and accelerating customer validation within Canada's insurance and risk management sectors.

Wildfire Risk Assessment and Catastrophe Modeling Sector

According to a notice from the City of Draper on January 29, information from the Utah Division of Forestry, Fire, and State Lands described the development of a statewide High Risk Wildland Urban Interface map identifying where structures and development faced the greatest wildfire risk. The agency explained that the high-risk layer had been created by defining a structure exposure score and incorporating wildfire likelihood, weather, ember load, flame length potential, topography, vegetation, and fuelscape data, structure density, and historical fire occurrence patterns. It stated that this process created "a standardized statewide boundary to support the consistent implementation of HB 48."

In an industry analysis released February 3, Delos Insurance Solutions examined how landscape conditions influenced whether fires escalated into large-scale, destructive events and how that affected risk assessment and underwriting approaches. Kevin Stein, CEO of Delos Insurance Solutions, said, "These fires made it painfully clear that wildfire risk isn't about whether a fire starts, it is about whether the landscape allows it to become unstoppable." The report also stated that "distinguishing between fires that are dangerous and fires that are catastrophic will remain central to sustainable underwriting."

According to NASA, in  February, wildfire was described as an essential ecological process connecting terrestrial systems to the atmosphere and climate while also posing risks to human health and infrastructure.

NASA reported that wildfire activity had increased in number, severity, and overall size due to factors including extended drought, fuel buildup, past fire management strategies, invasive species, and the spread of residential communities into formerly natural areas. It also stated that its Fire Information for Resource Management System "distributes global near real-time active fire data from Earth observing satellites, and provides enhanced interactive tools to help predict, prevent, and manage wildfires."
