Provider of cybersecurity and solutions for drones and robotics Mobilicom Ltd. (MOB:NASDAQ) announces it has secured a new design win and initial order from a customer based in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), a leading small-arms manufacturer. Find out why one analyst increased his price target on the stock.

Provider of cybersecurity and solutions for drones and robotics Mobilicom Ltd. (MOB:NASDAQ) announced that it has secured a new design win and initial order from a customer based in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), a leading small-arms manufacturer, according to a release on January 5.

The customer has ordered Mobilicom's Ground Control Station (GCS) 10-inch Maxi Controller, 7-inch Mini Controller, and SkyHopper PRO datalinks. These products will be integrated into a new prototype and demonstration platform for a remote-controlled weapon system, which is set to be showcased at UMEX Abu Dhabi from January 20–22, 2026, the release said. UMEX is a premier international event for unmanned and autonomous systems.

"We have previously achieved sales in the UAE, and this new customer engagement and design win continue to support our expansion across the Middle East region," said Mobilicom Chief Executive Officer Oren Elkayam. "We view the region as a strategic and growing market for autonomous and remotely operated systems supporting defense and security applications, and this order strengthens our presence with high-profile customers across the UAE and broader Middle East region. We anticipate a strong prototype demonstration at UMEX and believe successful performance could support larger, follow-on orders from this customer as well as additional regional opportunities."

Mobilicom's Mobile 10-inch Maxi Controller and 7-inch Mini Controller are rugged, portable ground control solutions designed for mission-critical operations, allowing operators to manage and monitor autonomous and remote systems with reliable command-and-control capabilities.

The SkyHopper PRO is Mobilicom's proven, software-defined datalink solution designed for robust, secure communications in challenging environments, the company said.

Mobilicom is a leading provider of cybersecure, robust solutions for the rapidly expanding defense and commercial drones and robotics market, according to the release. Mobilicom's extensive portfolio of proven technologies includes cybersecurity, software, hardware, and professional services that power, connect, guide, and secure drones and robotics.

With deployments worldwide and over 50 customers, including the world’s largest drone manufacturers, Mobilicom’s comprehensive solutions are utilized in mission-critical operations, the release noted.

Analyst: Recent Catalysts Set Stage for 2026 Momentum

According to an updated research report by Analyst Barry M. Sine on December 8, 2025, Teledyne FLIR announced a US$42.5 million production contract on December 5 with the USMC for over 600 loitering munitions. "As we discuss in this report, while not officially disclosed, we believe that Mobilicom is a major vendor on this platform," Sine wrote.

On November 25, 2025, the company revealed a significant European design win, with an order incorporating Mobilicom’s MCU-30, SkyHopper PRO, and ICE Cybersecurity Suite into German internal-security platforms, validating its technology in a market with high entry barriers, the report continued.

And on December 4, 2025, the company announced its Nasdaq direct listing, transitioning from ADRs to ordinary shares, thereby unlocking index/ETF eligibility and access for institutional investors.

Third-quarter revenue increased by 63% sequentially to US$987,000 (84% from U.S. defense), with a US$882,000 backlog to be fulfilled in 2025, indicating a transition from pilot programs to series production with Tier-1 partners, Sine wrote.

"We believe that these combined catalysts mark Mobilicom's inflection into a globally relevant supplier of mission-critical drone cybersecurity solutions, therefore we increase our one-year price target from US$11 to US$12 per share," he wrote.

The stock is a Buy, according to the research firm.

In an earlier September 2 report, Sine noted that Mobilicom is a drone technology firm that provides hardware, software products, support, and integration services to major defense contractors in the U.S., Europe, and Asia. The company collaborates with all three major Israeli defense contractors and has established supplier relationships with tier-1 defense contractors, including Teledyne and Rafael.

Sine outlined a three-phase growth trajectory for the company. Currently, Mobilicom is selling modules with embedded software to top-tier unmanned aerial systems manufacturers. The analyst anticipates revenue growth over the next 12-24 months as the company expands its supplier roles with U.S. and Israeli military programs, with products validated by the Pentagon's Blue UAS list. The long-term vision involves "enabling cyber-secure autonomous drone fleets for defense and commercial markets with high-margin embedded software driving profitability."

The company's technology portfolio includes three software platforms: OS3 Cybersecurity Platform Software, ICE Electronic Warfare Resistant Suite, and ControliT cloud network management system. Hardware offerings include MCU Mesh Networking software-defined radios, SkyHopper Datalinks, and Mobile Ground Control Stations. Sine emphasized the technology's proven capabilities, noting that "Mobilicom's OS3 and ICE cybersecurity platforms and mesh networking solutions are proven against state-of-the-art Russian and Chinese jamming threats, offering one of the world's most secure architectures for unmanned systems." The company's solutions have been validated in challenging environments, including Gaza and Ukraine.

The Catalyst: Financial Stakes Significant in Growing Industry

Grand View Research reported that the global drone market was valued at US$73.06 billion in 2024 and is projected to reach US$163.6 billion by 2030, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 14.3% from 2025 to 2030. This growth is primarily driven by rapid technological advancements in drones, improvements in battery efficiency, AI-driven autonomous systems, and enhanced imaging sensors, which are expanding the application of drones across various industries, as noted by Grand View.

In 2024, North America led the drone market, capturing over 39% of the market share. The hardware segment accounted for the largest revenue share by component, exceeding 58% in 2024, and the multi-rotor segment held the largest revenue share by product in 2024, according to researchers.

The financial stakes are significant. According to a December 5 report for Business Insider, author Chris Panella highlighted that "billions of dollars are at stake" in the race to develop defense drones.

"The Pentagon is preparing to spend US$9.4 billion on aerial combat drones in fiscal year 2026 as part of its larger US$13.4 billion investment in autonomous systems," the article noted. "Additionally, the Air Force is requesting US$789.4 million for the research and development of autonomous 'loyal wingmen' drones that can operate alongside crewed combat aircraft or conduct missions independently. The Department of Defense also plans to allocate US$3.1 billion to counter-drone technology."

According to a December 2 report by C. Todd Lopez on the War Department's website, the Pentagon has issued a request for information to assess the industry's ability to rapidly and cost-effectively produce around 300,000 drones. This initiative is part of Secretary of War Pete Hegseth's efforts to achieve the "drone dominance" goals set by the president.

On June 6, President Donald J. Trump signed the "Unleashing American Drone Dominance" executive order, which outlines the United States' plans to boost its drone capabilities in both commercial and military sectors. This includes supplying U.S. military units with large numbers of affordable, American-made, lethal drones to enhance their combat effectiveness.

In July, Hegseth followed up with the "Unleashing U.S. Military Drone Dominance" memorandum, detailing his strategy for how the department would achieve the president's objectives. Part of the secretary's plan involves working with other government sectors to bolster the emerging U.S. drone manufacturing industry by approving hundreds of American products for department purchase. This effort aims to drive a "technological leapfrog" by equipping combat units with the best low-cost American-made drones and incorporating training that reflects the department's combat expectations.

"Next year I expect to see [drone] capability integrated into all relevant combat training, including force-on-force drone wars," the secretary stated.
