As a whole, the metals and mining companies covered by Atrium Research kicked off 2025 strongly, reported Equity Research Analyst Ben Pirie in an April 2 quarterly coverage update.
"Q1/25 represented another excellent quarter for our firm, with strong performance from our coverage universe," Pirie wrote. "This mainly came from our exposure to precious metals, notably silver."
The group was up 13% quarter over quarter and 40% year over year, outperforming the Toronto Stock Exchange, whose gains were 1% and 12%, respectively.
The best performers in Atrium's universe were Santacruz Silver Mining Ltd. (SCZ:TSX.V) and Omai Gold Mines Corp. (OMG:TSX.V), both up 80%, and Tocvan Ventures Corp. (TOC:CSE), up 67%.
