Michael Ballanger Michael Ballanger of GGM Advisory Inc. shares how he thinks gold is in a mania phase, with silver close behind.

U.S. Dollar Index futures are up 0.11% to 103.120, while the 10-year bond yield is up 0.37% to 4.322% and the 30-year bond yield is up 0.43% to 4.619%.

Gold (+0.88%), silver (+1.22%), copper (+0.28%), and oil (+1.14%) are all up.

The DJIA futures (-0.10%) are lower by 41.0 points, while the S&P 500 futures (-0.13%) are down 7.7 points, and the NASDAQ 100 futures (-0.46%) are down 91.75 points.

Risk barometer Bitcoin is down 1.16% to $82,752 but still in bear market territory, down 24.37% from the top.

Silver

Yesterday, I told you that silver needs to get through $35.07 before I pull the trigger, so while I hate paying higher prices and running the risk of a whipsaw, the strength in gold is telling me that the breakout in silver is imminent, and in my opinion, going to happen today or tomorrow.

The correct trade is to own it now and then watch closely to see if the bullion banks engineer a false breakout, a practice of which they are masters. If there is no reversal above the October 2024 high, then I double up and look for $38 and then $45 per ounce with the record high above $50 in the crosshairs.

In the GGMA 2025 Trading Account

  • Buy 2,000 SLV:US at $31.15 limit

Wait for the breakout above $35.07 basis May silver (SLV:US $31.80) after which I will issue my stop-loss order.

For risk-tolerant traders:

  • Buy 50 SLV May $30 calls at $2.00

I am risking 50% on this trade, so as in the SLV:US, watch for the breakout and subsequent attempt at a raid by the bullion banks. If there is no whipsaw, I will double the position on a 2-day close above $31.80 (SLV:US).
